Bridal sizing is famously confusing: many designers cut smaller than high-street labels, and international sizes don’t always match. Here is how to find the right fit when renting or buying a pre-loved dress.
How SA, UK and US sizes compare
| SA / UK | US | Bust (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 2 | 81 | 63 | 89 |
| 8 | 4 | 85 | 67 | 93 |
| 10 | 6 | 89 | 71 | 97 |
| 12 | 8 | 94 | 76 | 102 |
| 14 | 10 | 99 | 81 | 107 |
| 16 | 12 | 104 | 86 | 112 |
Treat the chart as a guide only — always compare your measurements with the measurements listed on each dress.
How to measure yourself
- Bust: around the fullest part of your bust, wearing the bra you plan to wear on the day.
- Waist: around the narrowest part of your natural waist.
- Hips: around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
- Height with heels: measure from your collarbone to the floor wearing your wedding shoes for length.
Let us do the matching
